In Pacific Way Radio this month Pacific parliamentarians will discuss a Framework for Action on Climate Change when they meet in the Cook Islands for the conference of the Pacific Parliamentary Assembly on Population and Development (PPAPD).

The parliamentarians are being encouraged to take appropriate action to protect through better understanding of the causes, impacts and consequences of climate change and take strategic actions to reduce the potential impacts of climate change on the island countries.

We also hear about the trialing of drying fruits using solar driers in two rural communities in Fiji. This is part of efforts to teach communities to preserve local fruits and food and export them thus generating income for families.
