In Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Report this month we hear all about the Pacific Petroleum Project, an initiative that is expected to help Pacific Island Countries efficiently obtain petroleum products.
Global market changes related to petroleum products have had severe impacts on small Pacific Island economies giving rise to questions about energy security for the region.
The project is expected to address these concerns in the short to medium future.
We also hear about the Pacific's contribution to the post-Kyoto Protocol negotiations now underway and in preparation for the major international meeting on climate change in Denmark in December where a successor agreement is expected.
