US to provide $300M as security assistance to Indo-Pacific region: Pompeo

The United States has announced to provide nearly US$300 million security assistance to the countries in Indo-Pacific region.
 
This was announced by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo while addressing a news briefing in Singapore.
 
The funding will cover projects in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Mongolia, Nepal, the Pacific Islands, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
 
Pompeo said the new security assistance will strengthen maritime security, develop humanitarian assistance, peacekeeping capabilities and counter transnational threats.....PACNEWS
