PM O’Neill: Regionalism important driving force
5:37 pm GMT+12, 09/07/2018, Fiji

Regionalism is an important driving force for collective action as we develop our countries and as we speak as one voice, the Pacific voice.

This was highlighted by the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea during his public lecture on Pacific Regionalism held at the University of the South Pacific Monday.

He said the Pacific Islands Framework for Pacific Regionalism was a starting point for discussions on issues affecting people within the Pacific.

“It provides us with a platform focusing on initiatives that recognise our shared resources, our environment, our cultures and at the same time collectively promoting an action that is good for all of us in the long time,” O’Neill said.

O’Neill was on his first official visit to Fiji since taking office in 2012.
